Declan Rice is set to leave West Ham United during the ongoing transfer window, according to club’s chairman David Sullivan.
The midfielder captained the side to their first European trophy in 58 years after Wednesday’s 2-1 win over ACF Fiorentina in Prague.
Sullivan said that Rice can leave despite a year remaining on his contract due to a gentleman's agreement between the player and the club.
When asked if Europa Conference League final was Rice's last game for the club, Sullivan told Talksport: "I think it has to be.
"We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going. You can't ask for a man who has committed more to us this season. In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement, or several replacements.
"It's not something we want to happen. We offered him 200,000 pounds ($249,260) per week 18 months ago. He turned it down. It's cost him 10 million pounds to stay at West Ham in that time (in lost wages).
"And he wants to go. You can't keep a player who doesn't want to be there... I think the offers will start to come today."
The 24-year-old Rice joined West Ham's academy from Chelsea as a teenager and has played more than 200 games in the Premier League.
Earlier, Rice was ecstatic after leading West Ham to a major trophy.
“I don’t even know what to say!” he beamed, as the Claret and Blue Army sang his name in the Eden Arena stands. “It’s just a different level!
“Genuinely, I’ve been doing interviews with you for six years now and we’ve had ups and we’ve had downs, but this is what you do it for, these nights, these fans.
“Look how special it is. I’m telling you now, look at them, what a special group of people. It’s incredible and I’m just so happy.”
He also thanked the fans for their support.
“Do you know what? I don’t even know what to say!” he continued. “Those fans have been so good to me, honestly, I’m lost for words. This Club means so much to me.
“I just try to be myself, but as much as I’m happy for myself, I’m happy for people who have been here for so long, seen it all, taken on negativity, had positive moments… I don’t think it can ever get better than this. It’s just another level.”
